Mid-Senior Systems Administrator - Jordan

We are looking for a Mid-level/Senior System Administrator (located in Amman-Jordan) to maintain, upgrade and manage our infrastructures.

Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should be diplomatic and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.

You’ll be responsible for managing our server and network infrastructures. More responsibilities include supervising our Operations team, monitoring system performance, and configuring new software and hardware. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with various operating systems. Ultimately, you will ensure our software, hardware, servers, and networks run smoothly.

We have a wide variety of technologies, you should have the ability to adapt and learn new skills/technologies on demand, nothing is off-limits.

• Configure internal systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
• Upgrade the network infrastructure
• Install servers, devices and firewalls
• Train new system users and set up their accounts
• Monitor the performance of servers, software and hardware
• Ensure the smooth deployment of new applications
• Update technical documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, Database Administrator, or similar role.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; P
• Professional certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)) is a plus

Desired Technical skills :

• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (Linux, Windows)
• Experience with relational and non-relational database administration.

• Experience with hypervisors (VMware, Proxmox, oVirt, KVM-based ..)
• Knowledge of system security techniques (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Knowledge of shared data management (NetApp)
• Knowledge of cloud service providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Ability to create scripts in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or other languages
